Biography: Not much is known about Mara's life before the Serians. Even her race is unknown. Most information comes directly from the fragments of memory she has spoken of.
It is assumed that she was taken from the outer galaxies along with most of the other frontline soldiers that had been assimilated. Like all the rest she was fitted with a mind control device. At an unspecified time she was selected to enter one of the various research programs run by the Serians. As the Serians themselves had no natural transformations, they turned to other races to acquire the ability for themselves, believing it would give them the edge they needed to defeat the strongest races of the universe.
Mara was unfortunate, as her race was known to have extremely powerful transformations. She herself, according to her own reports, was unusually gifted even among her race. She was subjected to many tests, injections, and sample extractions a day. All in the hope of transferring her powers to her captors. Instead of transferring the transformation, the experiments yielded a different result. Her transformations were now completely unstable. The project was deemed a failure and Mara was set for termination.
However, one of the lead researches believed that simply terminating the subject would be a grievous waste of resources. She instead was transferred to the Tukesh Project. As with the prime subject of the Tukesh project, she was given a more advanced form of mind control device which returned her rational though, allowing her to remember the events the happened to her and allow her to once again think freely, albeit leaving her body still under complete control. She was assigned to the newly named Serak as his caretaker and partner. She was also equipped with an extremely advanced prototype that rendered her completely undetectable as long as she wasn't fighting.
As the two began to work together a bond grew between them. Even without direct communication the two telepaths could sense each others thoughts and emotions, allowing to form a friendship without a single word. Much of Serak's legendary regenerating abilities were not even his own power. Much of his endurance came from Mara consistently healing him from the shadows. Even at the battle of the 50 she was there providing support until the very end.
However, once the mind control was broken, she watched Setsuna disappear. She realized what he was doing and tried to follow. However as she tried to teleport her powers once again flared out of control. She simply disappeared and did not return.
Personality: Mara is a very polite person, however polite does not mean quiet. By nature she is a very talkative person, partly owing to years of never being able to speak while under mind control. She has a tendency to make bonds with other quickly, contrasting to Setsuna's very untrusting nature.
